Note: MCA cards are tested by installing them and identifying them using Peter Wendt's QBMCA. "no bus required" refers to cards that are connected on both sides by cables; some are internal cards while others are, or can be, external. "VLB" is a physical extension to ISA-x. All cards with a VESA Local Bus connector are identified as "VLB". "VME"/"MME" is a physical extension to MCA, however these cards are not specifically identified in this listing. All Microchannel cards are identified as "MCA" regardless of sub-type. At last count I found *six* MCA sub-types: 16-bit, 32-bit, 16-bit + VME/MME, 32-bit + VME/MME, MCA memory, and... MCA processor cards? Even when the motherboard lacks a VME/MME connector, sometimes a VME (but not an MME) card will *still* work. (the XGA-2 video adapter comes to mind) Have fun!
